Day 17--Small update

So I just realized that I lost some audio in the last video I posted about physical therapy! Sorry I didn't actually watch it before now! I suppose it's not that important. All I am showing at the end of the video is that I regained all the motion back and it's only been 7 months. Granted I haven't been walking at all on that foot which usually causes it to be more swollen and more in pain. But comparatively it's doing great for 7 months!

This is my Feet bending back and then just one of them at a resting position.
The wend of them bending back I'm using the same strength.

Now about the foot that I just got surgery on! two and a half weeks in! The physical therapy is actually doing great! It's been a little easier then my other surgery actually but like I said in the video it doing it does cause you to have some extra pain. Similar to slipping and putting pressure on it! However, not quite as painful! I'm doing pretty good with the meds. I don't know why I haven't wanted to say what type I'm on. Maybe because I don't thin it's important.. It might be though so I'm on Lortab it's what I was on before for my first surgery. At first I was mostly taking 1 pill every four hours or 3 1/2 hours. Then after the slip I was taking 2 pills every four hours. By about last Saturday though I got down to just 1 again! however, physical therapy makes my foot sore by the end of the day so I have been taking 1 1/2 pills right before I sleep. It's really isn't too much pain. At least for me. Obviously it's enough to still be taking Lortab! I tried to go without it today and it still hurts a good deal!

I don't know if I talked about this before but for the first little while you have a lot of nerve damage from the incisions. It's a little hard to explain what it's like but I'll do my best. Really the first two weeks are pretty good because you don't feel anything where those nerves have been cut. and now i'm going on three weeks and I'm starting to get some of the feeling back in certain places. I think the worst thing about nerves having to be rebuilt is that your foot will be HOT. Which can make you very uncomfortable and hot yourself.

This wasn't easy during the summer. At times it was terribly unbearable. This time though in the winter it's kind of nice to have some heat. So be aware that if you are getting really hot it's your foot causing it! Another thing is that you can get really weird jolts of pain or just a weird kind of tingling sensation. The last thing is Twitching. I tend to twitch when I get those weird feelings or just randomly. It tends to make other parts of me twitch too. Just keep it in mind especially if you are getting your drivers foot done. I'd advise you to have someone else drive you as much as possible when you are able to drive again! I had a pretty bad twitching fit a few months back while I was on the free way. It luckily didn't last too long and I was okay. It wasn't very fun though.

Thanks again for reading. As always feel free to email me at any time for any questions or advice!
