KRISTY'S FOOT SURGERY: 3 Months 2 Days-- Waiting.

There really isn't a whole lot to update you on! To be honest every doctors visit seems like a repeat from the week before except more digging and poking..

I went to the wound specialist and he could touch the bone.. so he took a culture of bone and of the drainage. Nothing is growing so no infection still! GOOD NEWS! However, I still have to finish of the antibiotics he gave me.. I don't know if it's because I've taken so much lortab that my stomach just can't take antibiotics but i get severely sick after taking it.. which sucks I still have 5 days left of those..

Oh well. My doctor on Monday took an X-Ray of the Bone inside and GOOD NEWS!!! Healing PERFECTLY. Just this darn wound will not close.. the Nurse that changes the wound vac takes measurements and nothing has changed sense last Tuesday when he opened it up and cleaned it out.. so whateves.. My doctor seems to see that it's starting to cover the tendon (which is what we think is causing all of this) and if that is REALLY happening then I shouldn't need surgery because that's the hardest part to get to grow over. Crossing my fingers that continues..

I don't really have any direction right now. I wish I could tell you more on this blog. I'm not trying to scare anyone this is a freak experience.. every doctor,nurse,person who knows anything about wound healing is baffled by this. I'm young, healthy, healed fine with FOUR other wounds, no infection. The Bunion scar is all healed new skin a beautiful.

Sigh.. just wait and watch and pray. I'm so grateful the bone is healing though! that would be terrible if I was having problems with that! Also some slight details on the Wound Vac.. cost us 40 dollars a day on our insurance.. It is painful some days other days not so much. annoying... you have to wear it EVERYWHERE.. when you sleep... sleeping has been the worst. Well that's all for now. I promise if anything important changes it will be up. for now just assume that i'm dealing with the same things.
